How GoodDayTo judges outdoor padel weather
Padel uses a relatively light ball and includes lobs, glass rebounds and quick changes in direction. GoodDayTo therefore starts penalising wind earlier than it does for activities such as walking. Gusts matter too because an otherwise manageable average wind can hide short periods that make ball flight less predictable.
Rain receives a strong penalty because an outdoor court can become slippery or unusable quickly. The app checks both probability and active precipitation instead of assuming a bright-looking hour will stay dry.

🎾 Indoor and covered courts are a different question
- This score is specifically useful for outdoor padel. A fully indoor court is mostly independent of the weather model.
- A dry forecast does not prove the court surface is dry after earlier rain or that the venue has reopened it.
- Wind can behave differently inside enclosed or partially sheltered courts, so your actual venue can feel calmer than the general forecast.
Choosing a comfortable playing window
Apparent temperature and UV help distinguish between two otherwise dry windows. On a hot sunny day, morning or early evening can score higher than the afternoon. On a cool day, the reverse can happen. The engine compares multi-hour periods so a short dry gap inside a wet afternoon does not automatically become the top recommendation.
Evening play is allowed, but GoodDayTo does not assume every venue has floodlights. Very late recommendations are therefore capped.

Local Fit can search OpenStreetMap for mapped padel courts near the searched location. It cannot determine whether a court is indoor or outdoor in every case, whether it is bookable, or whether the operator has closed it because of rain.

Reading GO, WAIT and NOT TODAY
GO means the forecast factors GoodDayTo can genuinely measure look favourable for this activity during the suggested window. WAIT means conditions are mixed or another upcoming period looks meaningfully better. NOT TODAY means the weather layer itself is currently a poor fit.
