Outdoor pickleball is highly sensitive to wind because the perforated plastic ball is light. GoodDayTo therefore gives sustained wind and gusts more influence than it would for a normal walk or sightseeing trip. Lower wind, low rain risk and a comfortable apparent temperature produce the strongest results.
Rain probability and active precipitation are both included because a court can become uncomfortable or slippery quickly. The model does not claim to measure traction, puddles or drainage.

- Rain can make hard courts slippery; the forecast cannot see whether a surface has dried after an earlier shower.

Heat, UV and useful time windows
Pickleball can be vigorous, especially across repeated games. Higher heat and UV can make a dry afternoon less attractive than a cooler morning or evening. GoodDayTo compares upcoming multi-hour windows so it can surface the friendlier period instead of calling the whole day good or bad.
Outdoor evening sessions are possible, but late-night recommendations are capped because the app does not assume lighting or venue access.
Finding a nearby court
Local Fit can look for courts explicitly mapped for pickleball. Coverage is still uneven because many clubs use shared courts or newer facilities that have not been mapped yet. A 'not found' result is therefore not proof that no court exists.
Always confirm opening hours, booking, court markings, surface condition and whether the session is indoors or outdoors.
