What this fishing score actually measures
The model rewards manageable wind, comfortable apparent temperature and lower rain risk. Wind matters because exposed banks, piers and casting can become more awkward as conditions strengthen. The score is intentionally about outdoor practicality rather than fishing success.

Where mapped data exists, GoodDayTo can look for fishing areas around the searched location. Mapping coverage is incomplete, and a mapped fishing tag does not confirm licences, species, seasons, access rights or whether fishing is currently permitted.
What the fishing score cannot know
The app does not model tides, river flow, water temperature, dissolved oxygen, barometric trends, species behaviour, bait, local stocking or regulations. It also cannot assess bank stability, wave conditions or small-craft safety. Those remain separate from the weather-comfort score.
What the score means
GO means the weather factors GoodDayTo measures look favourable for this activity. WAIT means conditions are mixed or another upcoming window looks better. NOT TODAY means the forecast currently contains enough unfavourable weather signals that this is a poor choice. These are planning recommendations, not guarantees or safety clearances.
